Glad I found this, it felt like a combination of great classic games in one. Awesome job.

You can see my gameplay below if you'd like : )

This had me WANTING more. The atmosphere is nothing compared to the way the game feels, and moves. You're more focused on the more retro controller scheme and the PvP is even more fun due to it! You've mixed the gameplay, and art. I would love to see more about story. I was very lost and didn't seem to know where, who, what, or when. Woke up and was already with the heavy intent of fighting for some cool items I've found along the way.

Overall, the game made me feel like I was home for the weekend, ps1 connected and ready to go with curiosity itching the dome. Thank you for this :)

8/10!

If you're not a horror person, you can watch this video!

Very damn good character models, atmosphere, and retro je ne sais quois. I would love to see a more built-out survival horror from you. More of those old school puzzles (dumb ones AND smart ones,) more of whatever plot you go for, and a bit more time to refine collision systems, weapon feel, and so forth.

Also found a gamebreaker tho, which meant I couldn't finish it. I'll likely give it another crack soon

There is a perfectly main-character sized pothole on the right side of the concrete before the (I'm guessing) final cave, I ran into it and got very extremely stuck.

cool game! i have always loved silent hill. however r1 is set to r2 on my generic controller. can you fix this?

Great game! Thank you for this game! ❤

hi !!maybe we can make a collaboration !_!!!

Free game like Resident Evil

is it posable to play this with a ps1 classic controller?

Yes it is. I tried it with one of mine and it worked like the controller it showed on the controls screen.

The game is very good, I enjoyed playing so I'll do a little review:

GOOD:

- Graphics are cool, remind me of my childhood games

- Spooky, it's not super scary and I like that

- The menu is functional

- The soundtrack is amazing

- I don't know why, but I enjoyed walking around the "City"? "Bay"? (I really don't know)

-The game design is good and the map is quite solid

Not that good

- Enemies are so fast that you always lose health when he finds you

- First boss fight is boring, takes too long for a "dodge and shoot" battle

- Lore? What is it? lol

I really missed some story in the game, I didn't understand what was going on in that place (And why there are collectibles that are useless for the game).

-? I don't know if it was my pc, but when I was fighting the final boss everything crashed a lot, making the fight super difficult

yeah that's it, thanks guys for the game, I'll be waiting for more awesome games <3

Had a lot of fun with this! Nailed the retro feel. Thanks for making :)

a awesome game nice work i enjoyed recording this i cant  wait for the next game

Nicely done ! We had a fun livestream with my viewers on this game.

Menu is cool looking, as is the main character. Lighting effects during the night are convincing.
Combat might require a bit of balancing, because enemies are slighty too fast, but lots of medipacks on the way make up for it... Sound design is good !

If you made this in 30 days, can't imagine any limit to what you can achieve with more time at your disposal.  If you ever make a 8h game, I'll gladly buy it !

😊👍

This was really well done. Out of the games that I've played from the Summer of Shivers game jam so far, this one probably stood out the most. Great example of how great the retro survival horror genre is when done well. It was engaging, unsettling, and just overall fun to play. The "secret" area was a great touch as well. I'm really happy I got to play this one, it definitely left a great impression :)

I really love classic styled games, I wish we have a time machine to go back to simpler time :(

If Silent Hill had been made at the very start of the PS1 generation and enjoyed a light Lovecraft theming, it would be Shadow Over Normoth. 3D models are rudimentary but effective, combat is a bit clunky but serviceable. Loads of enemies - including three bosses! Light puzzling with levers and gates - overall a promising demonstration of the developer's skills!

Added to our indie games list on the Fixed Camera Appreciation Society!

This was amazing, but couldn't b eat  the final boss? Cheers!

Edit- nvm I beat it!

I pretend to be scared and scream a lot for views in this one. Superb game by the way. Had a blast.

What a cool game! Absolutely love how authentic the game play and aesthetic are to the tank control horror games of old.

I played it for my Bloodcurdling Barrage, in which I upload daily horror videos for all of October. It's featured over the first three days.

Very well made game friend, I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Good game; hard to see the second lever (rusted gates area) though. Will play again.

the game does a really good job of building up tension and mystery, "what is this place?" "who am i?". The atmosphere is thick and the games inspiration is very evident with door transitions, tank controls, warped textures and obscure af puzzles or puzzle. the game is very short only taking 30minutes for me to beat also the ending is, weird i guess. spoilers but you fight god ganon oot style energy balls and everything.

we really enjoyed playing this game!!!

Eu amei esse jogo cara! Sou super fã dos clássicos de terror dos anos 90/2000! Espero que você faça novos jogos!

Sou um youtuber brasileiro iniciante, caso vc tenha um tempo pra assistir,  vai me ajudar bastante! Obrigado gente, Boa semana p todos!

Such a great callback to the 90's era of horror! I love it! The only thing is it felt like you got so many bullets compared to the amount of med kits

i had about 6 going into the battle

Haha I don't know how I lost so many to the creatures.  They were just on me so fast before I could react 😂

Bit late but gave it a go, feedback/commentary within

by far one of the BEST PS1 Horror Games I've played, except for Resident Evil. Did you also know that if you are one of the unfortunate people to buy the piece of poopy diapers that is the PlayStation Classic, you can use the USB classic controller to play this game? sub to my channel btw, it'll help me a lot.

10/10, best Crablante fight sim 2021.

One of the most complete games in the jam, I always love your work! I legit could not find the shotgun in 2 playthroughs, and I couldnt kill the last boss with the pistol :( I tried,

but here is the rest of the game No Commentary :)

Here it goes. My channels doesn't link to watch here. So

Shadow Over Normoth

Yes, pretty cool game, I love this engine as well.

I can't even get the game to run. It opens as a black screen and I can hear sounds but can't see anything...

Dont know if a encountered a bug or im a bad player but i could not damage that last?? boss, still great game. And i encountered the secret room with oceanworks. (also amazing game btw)

Great hark back to Silent Hill! The only issue I had was with that crab boss! Screw that guy! (Game starts at 25:45)

Talk about all in one! I'm not only a retro junkie, but I am a massive HP Lovecraft fan, with a Shadow over Innsmouth being one of my top 3 Lovecraft tales. Rather difficult, especially the ending, but was oodles of fun!

Great game, rather long for a game jam submission. Design, gameplay etc. are spot on. Not too puzzle heavy (which is a good thing to me). Thumbs up!

Nailed the PS1 look and feel! Definitely could have been a classic of the era.

Hey! I did a big roundup on a bunch of games in the jam (including yours) with some thoughts on each. Figured I'd share it here for anyone interested!
