Oceanwork - Post-Jam Update


The last stretch of the jam was a pretty stressful one. So stressful that I had no time for playtesting which resulted in some glaring balancing issues. That's why I got back to work and created a Post-Jam Version for all the people who are not here to rate the game in its initial Ludum Dare submission state. 

    

Since it's likely that I will make even more improvements down the line, note that the version marked as LATEST is, in fact, always the latest, updated version of the game. The version initially submitted to the jam is marked as "original jam version". 

    

So here is what I changed in this first update:

- Rebalancing of the shop prices for a smoother progression curve

- The description of the items in the shop was updated to better describe the use of each item

- Adjustments to the oxygen levels on each tier were made

- New sound effects to make it clearer when you're getting attacked

- Modified the way depth works. Especially when you're near your current max depth

- Fixed a bug where gold would get replaced with copper

- You can now see which ore you are about to mine in the interaction overlay text

- The color of the ores was adjusted. This should make each ore more visually distinct as especially copper and gold had almost the same color

- The ladder to exit the water now has blinking red lights so you can find you're way easier back to safety
