This is an excellent entry into the Haunted PS1 Game Jam. It fits the submission requirements perfectly and honestly, if someone told me without any context that this game was made in the 90's, I would have no reason not to believe them! I haven't read HP Lovecraft's  novels but are the tiniest bit informed on his works; with that said, the eerily quiet ocean side town, the fish men, and the eldritch creatures are very well executed.

I love the style of the game!  I've never used tank controls before so it took some getting used to, but I'm really enjoying it!

REALLY ENJOYED THIS GAME! It took me a while to beat it but I thought this was a great game and I kinda got HP Lovecraftian vibes with a Silent Hill, Resident Evil mix. Cool game!

Shadow over Normoth

Friend, congratulations for the game, I had a lot of fun, I thought the story was very good, I really miss this style of play, I feel they are more difficult!

Mr Warrrkus, this is just fantastic. I dont remember the last time I enjoyed a gamejam game this much. Yes, I do remember... Oceanwork... I simply loved it and will definitely try to get a better rank.  I found your easter egg room! Also, as much as I enjoy fighting Ganon, I think I dont need to tell you wich was my favourite boss... With a name like that you just have to love him!

Thank you Sepi :)

I Played Thru The Entire Game and It gave me HEAVY RE vibes. Check Out My Vid! Great Job!

'Oceanwork' and 'Shadow over Normoth' are wonderful to play with!

may I ask what langs you used to create the actual game? How long did it take overall?? I have some experience creating small, and simple games with  pygame trough python. and I'd like to reach the level of yours.

I'm using the Godot Engine with C# for all of my projects :) I've worked on 'Shadow over Normoth' over the period of 30 days. Probably working something like 4 hours every day (sometimes more, sometimes less).

Oh, C# it is! Thanks for your answer!!

Good game

(Game starts at 1:08:56) I livestreamed this game. LET ME SAY, from a person who grew up playing classic RE and Silent Hill games, THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN! A trip down a nostalgic road, from fixed camera angles, to running through endless fog, to even the sound of the items and the item management. I LOVED THIS GAME. However, I do with some of the lore was more easily understandable, (that's just me being picky) but it was made up with the fun boss fights! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I had too much fun with this game! Here's my video to prove it:

Wow! This felt like a long lost pitch by the creators of Resident Evil :D This is a genuine love letter to the genre! Good Job^^

Made a video

Okay I finished it  if this was a actual game that last over 4hrs long I would spend a good $9.99 for it. Especially if it was on PS4,5, Xbox and so on you be surprised how many people love playing retro ps1 games like this. I enjoy it alot!

thank you! :)

I love it but I'm having issues with the gate also u can't read the simple information like quit game and such works with my PC controller so it's cool so far.

Hey! Awesome game you've made! It's surprising how similarly it plays like one of the old classics. It feels like it's a game that DID come out back then. I'm kinda confused on what I was supposed to do against the last boss. I really wanted to beat it but my small brain couldn't figure it out lol. For being made in only 30 days, this is really good. I did have one odd issue with the lighting. In some places it's as if the lights simply weren't "activating" leaving some areas to be almost pitch black sometimes. I had a great time playing it. Thanks for making the game! You've really made something cool and fun!

Played this on the channel. (Played this one first) Pretty decent game, reccomended!

Good job! 🙂

Hey I played your game. Absolutely liked it! Had a lot of fun playing it! Making this into 2 parts. I made a video if your interested in watching got jump scared a few times! Will play more of your games for sure!

This is an absolute highlight of the jam, and one of the most well-developed experiences I've played from it. Had a blast destroying crates! I've posted a review on the jam submission page, and made a playthrough video:

It baffles me that it only took 30 days and was made with Godot but I guess you're just that good haha. I had a great time with this game, even though I probably played through it the absolute dumbest way possible but that just added to the excitement of surviving the horror.

Thanks for making games!

What a ride! Yeah I mean you definitely had some unconventional strats there, but hey it worked in the end :) Glad that you enjoyed the game and thanks for the vid!

really whoever is reading this... don't waste your time on this game, it is bad, really bad.

This is the most unhelpful post ever and just sounds like a troll post. If you're going to post your dislike of a game, maybe, list some reasons you dislike it or some constructive criticism/feedback?  Calling a game bad and telling people not to play is just going to make them more curious about the game.

Hello! Has this game been fully released and will it receive any further content updates (new levels, endings, characters, plot details etc) in the future, or is this a finished product?

(-1)

So the current version is intended to be somewhat of a "full game" but that doesn't mean that I would maybe pick it up some time again and expand on it. We'll see :)

Thanks for replying, will try it out then.

This was an amazing love letter to classic Survival Horror games. I really enjoyed it. Keep up the great work!

This was a fun game to play to, and it was very Silent Hill like too. The bosses were also challenging which is a plus.

Hey there,

Loved what I could play of the game, but unfortunately I think something happened with current build. After having to restart due to my own stupidity, I can no longer get the flashlight to spawn after your fight with the first big bad.

Fresh install, even tried to launch the game fresh a few times and nada.

Would love to play more, atmosphere really had me going.

Thanks!

WOW

This was an AMAZING game! I love all the nods to the obvious influences: Lovecraft, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, etc. It was so much fun trying to figure out what to do next without being frustrating. I beat the game if anyone is stuck here's my walkthrough:

The game is really fun and I like how it feels like the game came straight from the ps1 era. Animation is really smooth as well. I'd suggest adding in a bit more lore into the game. I would suggest adding in more first aid kits, but IMO I think that might be a me thing.

Here's my channel for other games I have played. https://www.youtube.com/c/Levont

Great game to support you!

Incredible! Another awesome Warkus game. I've been looking forward to this one and it didn't disappoint! A lot of great quality here that makes you forget you're playing a game jam game! Inventory and combat felt great. My only constructive feedback would be to add more health pickups in the maps, I was low on health the whole time lol! Well done :D

thanks! :)

This was so, so, so good. I do admit I had to cheat a few times because my health was so low, but I loved the atmosphere, puzzles, and combat. Boss fights were so solid. The last one mechanically is so unbelievably cool.  The kicker is you did this in 30 days - super impressed!

Aw, thanks! Very much appreciated! :)

download and install instructions ???

Hey, assuming you're running windows. Just download the zip file that has windows in it's name, extract it and double click the .exe file (it's the file with the blue Godot icon). Let me know if there's something else

Amazing game!

PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE tell me your going to turn this into a full length experience?!

:)

Great game with a good atmosphere and a good level of challenge.

Nostalgic visuals and control and its own plot.

Really excellent work.
