Adore this demo, glad there's lots of replayability  messing around with different weapons, armor, and items. Absolutely can't wait for the full game

This is such well made game which results in a very nice experience, and most important for me, it accurately depicts and embraces video game era that is now long gone.

Having an absolute blast with this, been playing for hours since I got it. It's only 4 rooms but I love playing it. Definently getting it on steam when it comes out. Hope to see giant sneks and spooky spider's and the original resident evil 1's most dreaded fu** the hunter or whatever your going to call it in here too.

House Of Necrosis! (Demo)

Walked in and did not know what to fully expect, left excited for a full release

It makes me thing, what if you crossed the first RE1 with a game like Azure Dream, where every step you take or action is a turn and draws monsters closer, makes for some interesting planning and combos

The game has some rogue elements, returning home and resets, repeating and growing until you have enough resources and ability for the next level

The first person view, very interesting touch.

Zombies were cool, the hounds... they suck haha (to fight) so many crows! It looks and feels like I am playing a game form back in those days, nailed the old 90s 32bit look!

I didn't make too much progress on going up levels but the first boss bottle I found, terrifying and know it would murder me so quick!

Overall, excited for the full release, it was a blast to play, easy to get addicted to and want to see what the higher levels hold

Great Job Warkus! Good luck With You House Building!

it's really amazing work the music and sounds effects is really good but the only thing I wish was is to go down ever deeper with your inventory and make the icon more recognizable even more but all on all its amazing keep it up and I can't wait to play it even more!!

Utterly fantastic take on old school dungeon crawler.

Looks great, has nice combat, itemization is good, sense of progression is well paced, everything just makes sense in this game.

The closest thing to a flaw I could give this is that this is just a demo but that is hardly a flaw.

Great work!

I had a great time with the demo. I find it very interesting to play a mystery dungeon game without

a. diagonal attacking/movement

b. hunger/regen system

I do think it would benefit the game to have a wait input, as I can think of some scenarios where you wouldn't want to attack but still wait a turn.

I think at the end of the day, definitely learn on making the game harder, it's really the soul of MD games imo :)

Good luck with everything!

I think this demo is too hard, numberical value is unreasonable

Game is super good. Only complaint I have is how weak you are when you have to be getting your ass kicked by monsters to be able to hurt them. Maybe some sort of spell to boost your attack for like ten turns or something per floor would fix it. I'm looking forward to the full release though, very promising.

IT IS AMAZING, and it is a DEMO, can't wait for the finished product, gotta love the progression, but I wonder if it isn't too rewarding?

THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER!

This is a must play for any  Resident Evil fans out there. Very fun and you actually have to use your brain for it, not many games do that. haha. Looking forward to the full experience!

I made a video on your game if you're interested :)

I'm excited to get to play the full release! I was so excited when i realized you also made Armored Shell Nightjar

Hi what did you make this in?

(+2)

Godot. You can tell bc the icon is the Godot logo.

Missed it because I'm on Linux but I got some vibes, specially for the ".pck" file, Credits on the menu also mentions it at the bottom

Brasileiro avistado

It isn't playable for me, for some reason the game opens to a black screen but with sounds and inputs working.

Hey, sorry to hear that the game isn't working for you.
If you're having an Nvidia GPU, can you check if it works when you change the Antialiasing mode in NVIDIA's control panel to "Application-controlled"? You might also need to change "Adjust Image Settings with Preview" to "Let the 3D application decide" if the former doesn't solve the problem. Thanks!

Did the first thing and it worked, thank you :-)

Awesome, glad that it works now! Enjoy!

Parasite Eve 1 feeling will try it!

Resident Evil!

(1 edit) (+1)

This is pretty awesome, although not what I expected. This is a rogue-like dungeon crawler. I was hoping for something a bit more fixed camera/puzzle/terrible voice acting oriented.

That being said, you did a GREAT job with what you did. The controls are fairly intuitive, you have nailed the look and atmosphere, if not the mood of the game you are paying homage to. The player is a bit OP, and seems to be able to kill everything that gets in her way, which defangs the horror somewhat, but all of the elements are there, and the game loop is classic and well implemented.

If this is your first effort, this is an excellent way to go. You can definitely work your way up to creating something more ambitious. Keep going!

Pretty epic!!

Does your game have translation to Portuguese? If not, I'm interested to help.

This game does not open for me. What could be wrong.

Hey, can you tell me your specs? Also can you specify what "does not open" looks like for you? Is there just nothing happening at all or do you have a black screen? Thanks!

Made another video

Spent some time with it, so figure I should record some semi-first thoughts!

You've completely nailed it from a sound and visual design standpoint. I wish you could've been there when I bust out into laughter on the 'spell' cast animation- though trust me, this was a good thing.

On Difficulty- I'm going to echo diabolodev, and say that i'd prefer an emphasis on kit than grinding for permanent upgrades, and a little polish on Serums and Boxes. Gunplay I acknowledge is probably meant to feel the way it does, but it could definitely use a minor to modest buff for how hard ammo is to find (or just make ammo VERY modestly more available, and leave stats as is- I'm sure plenty of people will poke and prod at it).

A little (and I do mean a LITTLE) visual clarity might also help- like giving the Carnifex different stances for its specials. Miiight have just lost a run to the nearly 300 damage in a straight line, thinking it was the AOE. Definitely not a factor. Nope. :P

All in all, though! I'm pumped as hell for release, early access or otherwise, and shout out to ABG for pointing me this game's way! :>

Made a video

The aesthetic is great. I hope you balance healing versus how punishing/hard to identify boxes and serums are, ammo being very limited but not that useful, and the ease of getting a full kit & rescue crystal in the future since those make the game feel less about interacting with items and mechanics and more about grinding permanent upgrades for you and your knife and then just hitting enemies

(+1)

Thank you so much for playing and for your feedback! Balancing is definitely something I'm constantly working on!

You're welcome, it's a fun game

Here's a bug I noticed: While wearing a magic protector with invisibility & deadly gas effects on being hit, it seems that the game crashes if I'm holding space to auto attack while it actives the gas effect

(+1)

This should be fixed in the latest version, let me know if that works and thanks for reporting!

(+1)

Not my thing, but my friend is loving it.

He asks for diagonals.

The original 7DRL version and the earlier demo both had 8-way movement. At some point I made the design decision to change that to 4-way as I feel like this works best for the result I have in mind. I know that this is a divisive topic and believe me that this decision was well thought over. Either way, thanks for playing!

I enjoyed it so much! Have you ever considered getting Japanese language option for the game?

Yes of course! But since I'm working on this game by myself I will have to see if there's enough demand for it after release. Thank you for playing!

Would you be interested in getting Japanese localization for the demo? I can do that for free if you like. Leave me your professional email address if you are interested!

Dev this was my first EVER RPG game

and it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

Plz let me know when the full game comes out ive already wish listed it on steam hehehe.

Thanks for playing!

Absolutely killing it! I love the Resident Evil vibe mixed with the roguelike dungeon crawler aspect. Absolutely loved it! I can't wait for it's full release!

Thanks for the kind words and thanks for playing!

Nice this was really great demo so far I like this old re style game and you really did great job anyway well done keep it up!

Thanks for playing!

Just finished the demo on the Linux build, in short I loved it, exactly the kind of mystery dungeon I wanted to play. Great job you should be proud of this game.

Didn't encounter any issues while playing, a very minor suggestion would be to have the different types traps look different!

Happy to hear that, thanks for playing!

The game seems fun and I didn't realize that there would be magic in the game. Overall, the game's really fun and I look forward for the game's full release. Keep it up.

Here's my channel for other games I have played. https://www.youtube.com/@Levont

Thanks for playing!
