A well-crafted gaming experience, you perfectly nailed an atmosphere of dread, despite the confines of a game jam's time limit! Really has the feel of one of those stranger, little-known PS1 titles.
Enclosed is my playthrough - Admittedly I didn't get very far, the well-constructed atsmophere dissuaded me from diving for more valuable ores, thus I sort of played the game entirely wrong, so uh... Ignore that part where I thought I was constructive criticising but I was actually being a dope that hadn't read the tips and hints.
the oppressive underwater atmosphere and audio had me holding my breath! also wanted to turn the game off after encountering the fish for the first time. this game made me proud to persevere instead.
I really enjoyed it, bit confused at how i was meant to figure out coordinates, mainly because i didn't know where 0,0,0 was in reference to anything. I got the ship ending but couldn't find the other.
bro, this type of stuff creeps me out sooo much!! i´m currently trying to write a horror short film about some people on a submarine in the deep-deep sea. i would be glad if I could capture even a bit of that horror vibe you had on this game, but it is hard with a small budget.
i´m gonna try anyway!
pretty good job, nonetheless. will certanly check more of your games out in the future. congrats!
Man, I had a shit ton of fun playing this game. I honestly found it very grindy at the beginning...but once I realized how much stuff you can get from mining other more precious minerals, the pricing made a lot more sense!
I got one of the 2 endings. I wanna get the second one. Now I wanna make small games like this one :D. Wish you expanded this even further.
This was really fun, awesome you were able to do it in such a short amount of time. I know it's been a while since you uploaded it, but it looks like it could be expanded upon/scaled up well.
I really enjoyed the concept of it. The shark was annoying at times because it often blocked my way out, but aside from that, I really liked it! If the depths continued into to deeper and deeper ocean with more sea life and maybe more enemies, I think this would feel really fleshed out. Also, I personally didn't have any problems with crashing.
Absolutely LOVE these PS1 graphic indie games coming out lately! The mechanics are very nostalgic & I found the progession/mining to be satisfying/addictive instead of monotonous. 10/10 for a game jam entry! I would purchase this, if it were more fleshed out/with more hours of playability. Hope ya'll make more games soon, or add a big update w/ more content to this one in the future! Seriously, again, very impressive for something made to submit to a game jam!!
Wow, very very cool! I really like how the progression was designed, it always felt easy to get to the next upgrade. Plus the graphics and sound are amazing. Great game!!
This popped up back again and I decided to play it. I really regret not playing it back when it first came out because its actually a really good game. Try it for yourself, you won't regret it.
I really, really appreciated the game. I haven't played a 72h game jam game that I liked this much to date. While the ties to something like Subnautica are pretty obvious, it really is its own thing. I liked the mechanics, upgrade system and aesthetics, but what really sold this for me was the freaking mystery.
I had to play this game just by looking at the picture of the game as it reminded me of subnautica and thought that it was going to be similar to it. However the game was whole different from what I expected and I have enjoyed looking around and sometimes felt horror when I saw the monsters looking type of sea animals.
Man, this game is amazing, really, I can't say how I liked this game, my heart stopped a 30 times, the ambience, the soundtrack, the monsters... Man, congratulations, this is THE BEST indie game of ALL that I already played.

Really liked the game! It didn't really scare me that much, but the atmosphere was incredible and I really liked the "grindy" aspects of it!
Really good stuff!

I remember back at Eek3 2021 you've annouced next update but not specific release date. Are you still planning on doing it?
Yes! I'm currently working on other projects but I definitely have some big plans for Oceanwork.
Thanks for the update. Looking forward to it.

Game crush after ≈7-10 minutes gaming, how to fix that?
game crashes alot looses all my progress 10 mins into a game
Going to play this with no idea what to expect, but hopefully my Subnautica experience will come partly in handy.

Fun core loop and I *love* the PS1 era visuals. I wish it was a bit more fleshed out, but I understand the rapid development time. Good job.
i cant play the game there is sound but it just shows me godot game engine
Fun game, finished in ~40 minutes. Wish I could kick that alien whale's ass.
agreed
Awesome game. Truly gives that feel of the PS1 with modern controls. The gameplay loop is great as well. Ultrawide support would've been nice.

not sure what to think about this game lol
i enjoyed this, love the PS1 graphics gameplay and mechanics gave this game such a unique experience. It did really feel like i was back in the 90s
Thanks for the fun/scares... not sure which we had more of :P

Stellar work, please keep making things.
