Dude now this is a great idea for a game. I love these PS1 retro feeling games and the new areas developers are taking them like with this one. :D

So I downloaded this game and I crashed I had to restart the whole game is there a way to avoid that? But besides that this game was actually amazing I haven't finished it because I was angry it crashed but overall it was good!

Still haven't managed to reproduce those crashes, sorry ;( There's a save system planned for the next update. Thanks for playing!

bro ima be honest the game is actually amazing and I would love to see new updates for this game!

Fun little game, I had a blast! The upgrade loop is satisfying and the tiered minerals really discourage grind. The retro graphics work wonderfully, as well. Input customization and a save game feature would be nice additions, but the game is short and sweet enough that their absence doesn't really hurt.

is this a ps1 demake of subnautica??

(1 edit) (+1)

not any game with water is subnautica, and this game is completely different.

Really enjoyed this! Killed it with the retro graphics, especially the main character model looks great. Gameplay is very intuitive and I never felt lost or unsure of what I should be doing. The time spent to upgrade felt good as well. I personally didn't have any issues with the big boi (killed me once very early on throughout the entire playthrough), just added to *the fear* and served as more of a 'don't get greedy' warning on top of your oxygen levels. Imo that combo of factors keeps the stress levels exactly where they should be. Still have to go back and get the alt ending but very happy with the experience I had.

Lol I found out that even after finishing with the "good" ending, I still had control over the (invisible) character, and I was able to go to the ocean and pretty much keep playing, got both endings in one playthrough this way!

This is really interesting! I also suffered from the crashes others reported a few times; it seems like holding forward (and possibly other directions) while climbing the ladder will cause it on occasion? Not reliably, so there must be another factor, but it never happened when I wasn't holding a direction while climbing.

I really like the ambiguity of the good end, and the environmental storytelling of the bad end; it makes it very clear what happened without spelling anything out. I would absolutely love it if we got some more interesting sea life and an expanded gameplay loop; I hope you continue working on this and expanding it!

Thanks for playing! Yeah I'm still trying to reproduce that bug, sorry for that

No problem! It really wasn't THAT disruptive. If there's any other information you want for debugging, I can try to provide it!

I mean every information you can give me will help me to reproduce it, so that would be great :)

This is a very fun game, with a good hook, beautiful style. I would have the following wishes:

  • some way to ward off or escape from sharks. Basically, once a sharks locks on to you, you have to exit. that’s not very fun
  • ability to get oxygen by surfacing anywhere, not having to go back to the ladder
  • some rarer, weirder, bigger creatures that lurk in the depth (maybe there are and I happened to not see them?)
  • some weird mysteries to ponder and invent lore about

If there were some more mysteries and if the game was a tad longer (not too much! Maybe twice as long), I’d easily pay money to buy it. Heck, I’d ave bought it as it is, but there’s no “pay what you want” button?

Still, an excellent game

Hey! Thanks for the playing and the feedback. I can only agree on all the stuff you've mentioned. I have some ideas for a bigger update that would also address these points. Can't really promise when that will happen, though :) And yeah, payments are currently disabled for all my games. Thanks again!

The game is fun but I kept dying because I couldn't turn around fast enough. It would be nice to have sensitivity controls.

Great game! Just the right blend of short and fun.

If you get some time, it would be great to have some way to adjust mouse sensitivity, I play on a laptop usually and so turning the camera around can be a bit slow

Honestly I love these kinds of game so much, and enjoyed playing it so much!

That was a game loop i was not expected to enjoy damn.

good game good graphic

I think this game is great, but after playing through both endings I'm a bit dissapointed. The "good" ending is fine and pretty straightforward, but the "bad" ending is so open that it feels bland and that you did all of that for nothing.

I loved this game

when I download the file it says the file is damaged and should be moved to trash. Mac

Yes, me too. I've had this happen a few times with godot applications on mac.

This game is soo good. Incredibly addictive. You definitely need to develop this further. Adding more secret, upgrade, creatures, and expanding the map, so many possibility

Great game loved it, PS1 is my favvvvvv love you forever :)

Still trying it out but so far my only gripe is the shop menu is kinda painful on the eyes.

damn, this was such a random dive(no pun intended) but a captivating 42 minutes for me:) great concept and execution, just enough anxiety to keep me glued. And that goddamn fish scared the crap out of me till I got the fast swimming equipment. great job with sounds etc too, overall zero fat on this

thanks! :)

Roof over my head, oceanic view on all sides, impossibility of death, no neighbors, and you want me to leave? Pshhhh.

lmao impossibility of death? I have been way too careful, let me see what happens

(1 edit)

It keeps crashing when I try to play it? I downloaded the newest version for windows and when I load it up I just see the title screen and then it closes

Hm, that's weird. Any infos about your hardware? Have you tried running any of my others games or any other Godot games in general?

I don't know

this was perfection

I just got the first ending, that shark is a pain

One of my favorite games on itch

I love the art style, finished only the "safe" ending (1st). Thank god i didn't run up to the other depths monsters since i have thalassophobia lol. The sharks can be a pain in the a** if you don't have the Fins. Great game!

Liked the aesthetic but the gameplay loop felt too barren, too similar to clicker games where you farm points to get upgrade A to farm points slightly faster to get upgrade B, etc.

Just got both endings, great game! Love the art style, looks dope and can run on my old integrated graphics. P.S. that fish can eat my a**.

This is a seriously good game. I loved the style and the balance between ore and shop prices. I sadly was unable to find the king-squid so I had to leave using the conventional way

OMG this was such a good game. You need to keep developing it further. Introduce more stuff. The basics are amazing. Here's my playthrough -

Good game wish you could save though....

Other than the big fish bout making me shit myself on one or two occasions, it's fun. Also, i was playing for about a half hour but out of nowhere it crashed when I tried to climb the ladder and was wondering if this was an isolated incident or not.

This is definitely in my favorite top ten games I've ever played, I love the style and gameplay reminds me of motherload. The only thing that bugs me is that when you dont know where the whale (whale? shark?) is, it can hover above you, leaving you trapped under it, so it drains all of your oxygen. But other than that great game :)

Suprisingly satisfying mechanics and gameplay loop. Really draws you into its odd world especially with the mystery of multiple endings!

the game is very good, I found the idea of the game very creative, the game is light, and it's free, but I found some strange and scary things on the map like an image... <img src="<a href="<a href="https://img.itch.zone/aW1nLzU5NjE2MTkucG5n/original/gu5fRH.png">https://img.itch.zone/aW1nLzU5NjE2MTkucG5n/original/gu5fRH.png</a>">

Nostalgia awesome (^~^)
