Great Experience! I had fun :)

I remember back at Eek3 2021 you've annouced next update but not specific release date. Are you still planning on doing it?

(+2)

Yes! I'm currently working on other projects but I definitely have some big plans for Oceanwork.

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to it.

This was really fun, awesome you were able to do it in such a short amount of time. I know it's been a while since you uploaded it, but it looks like it could be expanded upon/scaled up well.

I really enjoyed the concept of it. The shark was annoying at times because it often blocked my way out, but aside from that, I really liked it! If the depths continued into to deeper and deeper ocean with more sea life and maybe more enemies, I think this would feel really fleshed out. Also, I personally didn't have any problems with crashing.

Would recommend!

Game crush after ≈7-10 minutes gaming, how to fix that?

(+1)

game crashes alot looses all my progress 10 mins into a game

Going to play this with no idea what to expect, but hopefully my Subnautica experience will come partly in handy.

Absolutely LOVE these PS1 graphic indie games coming out lately! The mechanics are very nostalgic & I found the progession/mining to be satisfying/addictive instead of monotonous. 10/10 for a game jam entry! I would purchase this, if it were more fleshed out/with more hours of playability. Hope ya'll make more games soon, or add a big update w/ more content to this one in the future! Seriously, again, very impressive for something made to submit to a game jam!!

Fun core loop and I *love* the PS1 era visuals. I wish it was a bit more fleshed out, but I understand the rapid development time. Good job.

i cant play the game there is sound but it just shows me godot game engine

Fun game, finished in ~40 minutes. Wish I could kick that alien whale's ass.

agreed

Awesome game. Truly gives that feel of the PS1 with modern controls. The gameplay loop is great as well. Ultrawide support would've been nice.

Wow, very very cool! I really like how the progression was designed, it always felt easy to get to the next upgrade. Plus the graphics and sound are amazing. Great game!!

This popped up back again and I decided to play it. I really regret not playing it back when it first came out because its actually a really good game. Try it for yourself, you won't regret it.

not sure what to think about this game lol

i enjoyed this, love the PS1 graphics gameplay and mechanics gave this game such a unique experience. It did really feel like i was back in the 90s

Thanks for the fun/scares... not sure which we had more of :P

I really, really appreciated the game. I haven't played a 72h game jam game that I liked this much to date. While the ties to something like Subnautica are pretty obvious, it really is its own thing. I liked the mechanics, upgrade system and aesthetics, but what really sold this for me was the freaking mystery.

Stellar work, please keep making things.

I had to play this game just by looking at the picture of the game as it reminded me of subnautica and thought that it was going to be similar to it. However the game was whole different from what I expected and I have enjoyed looking around and sometimes felt horror when I saw the monsters looking type of sea animals.

Man, this game is amazing, really, I can't say how I liked this game, my heart stopped a 30 times, the ambience, the soundtrack, the monsters... Man, congratulations, this is THE BEST indie game of ALL that I already played.

I have a slight problem. Not with the game, its just I cant play it. My mac says that Oceanwork has been damaged and cannot be opened. Looks like an epic game though! If you think you have a solution, please reply. Thanks!

F@%k this game, I hate it, screw the ocean, I'd rather die than explore it, triggered my thalassophobia and megalophobia.

I enjoyed it very much, simple yet exciting. I managed to get the secret ending first instead of paying off my bounty. Two thumbs up, 10/10

I liked this game,  but I really am wondering about that secret ending. I really didn't understand that all. What exactly happened?

(+1)

Yeah same I would really like to know what happened

(+1)

Unfortunely, i wasn't able to finish the game. I don't know why but the game was randomly crashing and it doesn't save your progress, so... i don't want to keep playing just to get crashed in the end.

(+2)

Very fun and creepy! Did the secret ending, for once I actually had to get out my notepad like when I used to play the old Club Penguin missions as a kid, which made it super fun. well done!

pretty awesome game but all of a sudden the game crushed and lost a ton of progress, would be highly appreciated if you had a save button in the menu

(+1)

This game is really cool. I love deep ocean stuff and the secret ending really played on my fear of creepy ocean things lol.

Also fuck those sharks lol. Thanksfully the speed upgrade makes them a complete non-threat but early game I was always scared of one popping outta nowhere lmao.

Great game, keep up the good work.

Great game bro, continue this project

its scaring

Absolutely loved it, played it three times just because I liked it so much.

I feel like a pause button is necessary

(1 edit)

fax,we need a save button too

This looks like something that will intensify my thalassophobia. Will try it out

pretty epic game, but i never managed to find the second ending

esté jogo é incrivél!! por favor expanda-o!!!

This game is just awesome. I like the progression of the game, buying new stuff from the vendor really keeps you playing, but I think it needs a saving mechanic because it crashes a lot and most of the work I do just doesn't save when I log back in.

I genuinely had a lot of fun playing this. even to the point where I was write down coordinates and drawing a map

i have one problem with the game and that is that it keeps crashing

Me too

nice game and all but one small problem, THE F%&$ING SHARKS.
they are everywhere and their tactic is to stay above you while your annoying suit yells "injury detected" "injury detected" "injury detected" "injury detected" "injury detected" "injury detected" "oxygen level critical" until you die and lose half of everything you worked for. without sharks: 8.5 out of 10
with sharks: 4 out of 10, because after a little while they make the game nearly unplayable, ESPECIALLY because of how grindy the game gets at some points.

i thought they were whales

Once you upgrade to faster swimming, it's a non-issue imho.
